The sequential steps are actions we take which build on each other to build the foundation for the journey to access the intention for our life. As such, they should be done in sequence.

Give our creative spirit permission: We need to give our creative spirit permission to come out and return to a state of creative childlike play and return to the most creative state of being. We need to write a "permission slip" that we knowingly, freely and willing give our creative spirit permission to freely express itself and that our mind will do whatever it can and whatever it takes to protect the free unfoldment of our creative spirit and hold our creativity sacred. Giving permission is further discussed and a sample form provided in the topics "Giving permission for the creative spirit to come out" and "Guardian consent form for the spontaneous playful child within."

Create a conditioning and opening prayer: Accessing the intention for our life is the equivalent of a journey. It is a journey in which we recreate our life and choose to become the phoenix. It is a journey on which we desire to be safe. It is recommended we create two prayers that are really about asking the unseen realms for protection and guidance.

One is a conditioning prayer that we use each day to focus our attention and awareness and to know that we are in the hands of powerful creative forces. The second is to proverbially "draw a line in the sand" over which we will step and never return to the past. It is to literally and figuratively beak with the past. The opening prayer is then used within the rituals we create to open or start our journey.

The prayers should address in whatever form we see and personally experience the unseen creative powers/Creative Powers of creation/Creation. In the prayers, we ask the unseen  to give us the assistance, protection and guidance which can be provided within the understanding of our birthright. That is, we keep faith with the old Arab Proverb, "Trust in God but tether your camel." We do what we have to do and are responsible for doing. We do not look to the unseen to do what we need to do which includes making our journey safe and providing protection.

In terms of making our journey safe, we need to become aware of the world in which we live and use the lessons learned of others and perform a hazards analysis for what we think we may encounter. We need to be aware there are no judgements on what we do but there are consequences for the time and place for the actions we take. We need to become aware and awake as to new hazards and/or consequences we may encounter. We cannot make such a journey in the blindness of thinking God or any other unseen  power will take way our responsibility and will protect us. We must learn to do and take responsibility for what we are responsible for doing. That is, we either created or agreed at some level of our being to participate in the experience we have.

The daily conditioning prayer is something that inspires us and provides us with a direct connection to the unseen  world in a way that excites and catalyzes us to engage the world. A sample format for the conditioning prayer is provided in the topic "Sample format - daily conditioning prayer."

The opening prayer calls forth the unseen  in however we understand the unseen to guide, protect and assist us in our journey. This opening prayer needs to hold our creativity sacred. We must become very aware not to create, or continue to support, a victim consciousness. The prayer must be structured for us to take responsibility for what we are responsible for doing. We can always ask for help, assistance and guidance but we must take responsibility for what we are responsible for doing. A sample format for the opening prayer is provided in the topic "Sample format - opening prayer for an individual."

Establish clarity of intention: We need to obtain a clear intention to access the intention for our life. We need to pull the string and explore why we desire to access the intention for our life. We need to look to see what pains, discomforts, frustrations and other types and kinds of negative or positive motivations that may be pushing us to consciously access the intention for our life. Also we need to look to what exactly is the feeling we wish to experience such that we feel the need to set an intention to create something different than what is.

Understand there are no judgements on why we desire what we do. We do have a free will. This issue is to understand if we are running away from something or running toward something. Running away or toward something will blind us as to seeing the truth of our being, the truth of reality and the intention for our life. We must become totally clean and clear as to why we seek what we do.

Calibrate the internal compass: We need to calibrate our internal compass based on the experiences we have had to date. In calibrating the internal compass, we need to understand that as we gain experiences we may need to shift the focus of our internal compass. In calibrating the internal compass, we need to set the intention to (1) open ourselves to what we feel to be able to discern all that it possible for us to feel and (2) we willing to address the pain of the past as to why we shut down our ability to feel.

Set the composite intention: In very clear, conscious and directed action we need to set the composite intention to (1) access the intention for our life; (2) open ourselves to feeling, (3) be willing to face the pain as to why we shutdown our ability to feel; (4) become aware of our intuitive guidance and body wisdom (5) give our creative spirit permission to freely unfold true to itself and ( 6) return to a state of childlike play with the goal of returning to the most creative state of being.

In many ways setting this composite intention needs to be the equivalent of a traditional pilgrimage, if not in travel, in magnitude of effort. We need to make the equivalent of a pilgrimage to know without a doubt our intention is set. The pilgrimage is the manifestation of the proof of the desire we have. Whatever we choose to do, we need to some way create our equivalent pilgrimage honor each of these six intentions.

In a traditional pilgrimage, one would travel to a particular sacred place and perform certain types and kinds of rituals and/or ceremonies. The purpose of the pilgrimage was to receive or obtain certain blessing or good favor of God or the gods, establish or improve our relationship to God and/or the unseen  world and/or to achieve some religious or spirit end. The traditional pilgrimage had a flavor of being long and/or arduous so as to "burn off’ one’s unworthiness or sins so as to become acceptable and eligible to receive favor of God or the gods.

What we do here needs to be a pilgrimage in the sense we go somewhere other than our normal places of being and perform some type and kind of ritual, ceremony and/or metatheater relative to the intentions we hold. It could be a very short distance or an actual trip of some duration. The location does not have to be sacred or special other than being special to us. The intent in traveling is to symbolize the desire to move our current perspective, psyche and world to a new place and one the better supports what we desire to create. While we are there in this place of pilgrimage we do something that demonstrates to a witness that we intend each of the six items listed above. Something should be done for each intention to demonstrate to a witness that we are committing ourselves to that intention.

Exactly what our pilgrimage will look like is unique to each of us. It may be done in conjunction with another or others, but what we do will ultimately be unique to us to address our needs. Although we may follow the guidance and recommendation another makes, it must be something we create and in which we willingly participate.

It is to be noted, an equivalent pilgrimage can be created which also simultaneously address each of the parallel activities and/or rituals referenced in the topic, "How to access the intention for our life." It should be noted that all that is discussed here can be combined with the actions in "Necessary starting conditions to access the intention for our life," "Parallel activities for accessing the intention for our life," "The things we need to review and understand," and "Create a series of rituals and an initiation" into one overall ritual.
