The second reason for the need
to call forth the creative spirit
Each of us has, within our being, an
unlimited creativity and ability to create. It is not about learning
a new talent or ability. Rather it is about learning how to use what
one already has. We are an
infinite creative being and within us is an
infinite consciousness to know how to create whatever we desire.
The “Creation
Story for the Creativity Perspective” provides one way to
understand the infinity of our own being. However, our
enculturated mind or
current mind is too limited to fully
comprehend and/or grasp all that is available to us. There is too
much such that we will lose the focus of our attention and awareness
in the details of all that is open to us. Quite simply, we get lost
in the infinity of it all.
The problem we face is that our creativity must be called forth. To
access any part of this inner infinite consciousness we will need an
external focus. What is not readily understood is that creation is
not done alone. Our
creative spirit needs to be called forth by
another or something. It must either be called forth from an
internal motivation or an external motivation. However, in the end,
the
inner is reflected in the outer. There will be an external focus
which inwardly excites us or and inward
desire to act focused externally. It can be said to be excited
inwardly from an external cause is to be reactive and to desire to
obtain an outward focus is to be proactive.
Most often we use another, some external focus, to catalyze us and
to focus our
attention and awareness outward. But we must learn to look simultaneously
inward as to what that external focus uniquely represents to us
and why it/they are in our life. That link to the external will
keep us from getting lost in the infinity of all that is within us
and keep us focused to go directly to access the information and
understanding that we seek/need. Similarly, if we can get an
individual to hold focus on us, we can call forth information and
understanding from within them by the conditions we create around
them. This is key to how the
rainmaker, dream midwife and dream
nanny works. The file “The
Human Condition as seen from a Creativity Perspective”
provides two parables that are often told which describe the typical
situation we face relative to accessing and using the depth and
breadth of our creative power which you may find of interest.
All
creative
ability and creative power arises from within. We may use
another. We may seek another’s advice or input. We may use
materials outside of us. However, the ability to create and the
power to create comes from within. None of that creative power comes
from the external. But it does need to be called forth from within
our being. The
Releasing Your Unlimited Creativity approach realizes
our creative power needs to be called forth. It is designed to
help us learn to call forth the creative power and ability we need
to create what we
desire. Although the approach may appear to
call forth our creative power through an external focus, the
methodology is designed to get us in touch with that part of our
being that will allow us to call forth the creative power and
ability whenever we need it or desire it from within our own
being. It is designed to help us to become creatively
self-sufficient. The approach only holds us accountable to awakening
and using
what we already possess.
Every intention we hold, consciously or
nonconsciously, is calling
forth our
creative spirit and our
creative
ability and creative power to one degree or another. Yet, what it
actually calls forth in our creative spirit is the “why” behind the
intention we hold. We need to
pull the string to ask, “Why this particular intention
as opposed to any other?” There may be something to which we can
point and say, “That is the reason for my intention” but in reality,
there is usually something much deeper calling forth our creative
spirit. Without exploring the “why” that is calling forth our
creative spirit we don’t really know if all that we intend does, or
does not,
serve us and who and what we are. But what needs to be
understood is that our creative spirit needs to be called forth by
something or someone. It is the awareness of the need to call forth
the creative spirit what makes the Releasing Your Unlimited
Creativity so different than other methodologies
In general there are three ways our creativity is normally called
forth. However, none of these ways will normally call us to develop the ability
to create the creative ability we need for any situation from an
internally creative self-sufficient way. The primary way our
creative ability is called forth is it is called forth to
find a way for us to survive in the world. Living life in a human
body requires us to become creative to get the necessary food, water
and the like in order to survive. For most of us, this translates into finding a job to give us the resources to survive. Many in
life have abundant material resources yet they barely survive in
living life and have great difficultly creating
a life worth living.
If we look at the “why” behind the intent to survive we will come to
see that the
creative spirit seeks life and a
desire to sustain
life.
A second way is that someone or something presents us with a problem
or challenge in some way that calls forth our creativity beyond that
needed for surviving in the world. We may need to respond because we
feel our survival depends on responding but our response is greater
than that required for survival. For example, one tribe which is
able to effectively survive and grow is attacked by some other tribe
or feels threatened by the attack. The attack forces one to become
creative in their response - heroic or otherwise. The response that
is called forth is above and beyond what is needed to ordinarily
maintain the survival of the tribe. This translates into the change
that routinely enters our life to upset our normal routine. For
example that freak auto accident that forces us to find a way to
replace our car. When we respond to these changes we need to look at
why we are choosing to respond the way we do. Often our response is
based on the past and may, or may not, be the correct response for
the present.
The third way our creativity is called forth is there is something
we
desire to create for one reason or another from an internal
motivation. It may be simply creating fire because one is cold or
they look for some paintings to put on the walls of their dwelling place
so it does not look so drab. This is about things and activities
that make
a life worth living. It is not about achieving or obtaining
something that we have been programmed to achieve. Rather it is
about those unique quirks that really make life worth living. It may
be the hobby of collecting colored rocks. We collect them not because
we think they are sacred, they are of particular geological
importance, or we have some obsession that goes back to a troubled
childhood and the like. Rather we collect them simply because we
like to look at them and they make our life worth living. When we
look at the “why” behind these actions we begin to get a glimmer of
what really satisfies us in life.
The key understanding here is that something needs to call forth our
creative spirit. It does not just “come out” and make an
appearance. This is why the experience of any
creation/Creation
so important to our creative spirit. It awakens as result of
experiencing a flow of energy and
goes to sleep when there is nothing to observe or to
challenge it to come out and respond.
The need for
the creative spirit to be called forth
(Top)
There are two reasons for the need
to someone or something to call forth the
creative spirit and each will be discussed at length below.
The first reason is inherent in to
the nature of consciousness. It is the fact that consciousness will
response to the conditions in which it finds itself. It awakens as a
result of experiencing a flow of energy. Without movement of some
type externally there is nothing to which to respond.
The second reason is a result of
how we experience
Physical Creation. This second reason is probably a
little easier to understand than the first. The existence of the
second reason depends on the past and whether or not the our
creative spirit was thwarted in previous similar
creative endeavors.
That is, because the free expression of our creative spirit was some
how thwarted it experienced
pain and withdrew to protect itself. This second reason is more
about "fixing what is perceived as broken." It is this aspect of
"fixing what is broken" which gives rise to the concept that we
somehow need to heal wounds of the past. The second reason may or
may not be present in any given creative endeavor we face.
The first
reason for the need to call forth the creative spirit
(Top)
The inherent nature of the
creative spirit is to freely unfold and express itself within the
conditions in which it finds itself. It will mold who and what it
thinks and believes about itself and its world based on the
experiences it has. Life itself will call forth the creative spirit
to creatively respond to the conditions in which it faces. Most
importantly, the creative spirit learns to survive in the world in
which it finds itself. So whatever environment in which the creative
spirit finds itself that environment will call the creative spirit
forth to respond to that environment in some way.
The
creative spirit has an infinite creative ability and is unique.
The “Creation
Story for the Creativity Perspective” provides a way to
understand the depth and breadth of the creative spirit within our
being. As a unique infinitely creative entity, there are an
infinite number of ways our creative spirit can express itself. If
we choose to do so, it will take an infinite number of creative
experiences to fully and completely explore the depth and breadth of
our creativity.
Each experience we have will cause a different aspect of our being
to be revealed and manifested if our
creative spirit is allowed to freely
unfold in response to that experience. However, without a
safe and secure space to unfold true to our nature we will still mold
ourselves to our environment but we will shut down those aspects of
our creative spirit that are not readily expressible or acceptable
to our environment. These aspects of the creative spirit that are
not free to be expressed remain hidden. They will still express
themselves. Because they are not free to be expressed consciously,
they will most likely be expressed
nonconsciously rather than
consciously facing the
pain of again being thwarted.
The experience we have, including our response to that experience
when our
creative spirit is thwarted, goes into our memory and
becomes part of the basis for our response to future experiences. As
such, we lose the conscious awareness of those creative abilities
that are represented by those aspects that were thwarted and that
part of our being is never consciously expressed. For them to be
resurrected and expressed, there needs to be someone who provides a
safe and secure space for them to be expressed. Otherwise, they will
remain hidden and operate
nonconsciously. Such a safe and secure
space is one where we are free to mold ourselves in our own identity
and not what is imposed on us.
As an energy, our
creative spirit can, and does, remold or transform
itself based on how we choose to direct the flow of energy by how we
choose to focus our attention and awareness. It will mold itself to
whatever its environment requires for its survival. However, there is
only one way that the true uniqueness of our creative spirit will be
seen. There needs to be someone who is willing to create a space
where the creative spirit is free to mold itself true to its own
nature doing what is necessary for this creative spirit to unfold
true to its unique nature. Few achieve this level, for
creation/Creation is not done alone and this is one of the most
fundamental, key understandings one must have for any creative effort.
Unless there is someone who supports our intention, whatever it may
be and helps it through the difficult times and with whom we can
share what we face, we risk compromise of our intention and never live
to the fullness of what is possible.
It needs to be realized that since each of us are unique, each
person before us is capable of calling out a unique part of our
being that no other can call forth. We can also say there is one
unique person that is able to call out the particular
dream we carry in
are heart and we are here to manifest. The possibility of
this person existing gives rise to the concept of an ideal
soul mate that many hope to find. Some find such a person
who comes close to that ideal. However, such a person is not
necessary. Anyone can become that soul mate for another if they are
willing.
All that is needed is someone who understands how to
create the space that is needed for what needs to be expressed
to come out - literally and figuratively,
a dream midwife and nanny. To create that space someone must
be willing to not impose themselves on the other and they must be
willing to experiment to see what does and doesn’t work to call
forth and free the individual’s
creative spirit. We only need to
understand that all that stands in the way of our creating the space
of freedom for another, whomever that other is, to freely unfold
true to their creative spirit is our own
mind. In any case our
intuitive guidance with a
clear intention to create such a space for an individual
will lead us in the
fastest way.
On this point of creating the space for another, there are no
mistakes that can be made. There are only learning experiences to
see what does and doesn’t work. Mistakes can only be made against
something that is known. In a truly
creative endeavor
and/or
creating a safe space for the
creative spirit for another to unfold
you are facing the unknown. We cannot make a mistake. We have no
way of knowing exactly what is right. We may have some generic
ideas but we cannot know for sure. All we will find is some ways
are more effective and efficient than others. If we are concerned
about causing harm in any way, set a
clear intention to create a way
that is safe as possible then trust our
intuitive guidance on to lead us.
Permission must be given
(Top)
In any situation unless both we
and the other are open to what is called forth, what is called forth from
within our being cannot come out. We must
give permission what is
within us to freely express itself in the presence of another. The
other, in turn, must give themselves permission to become what is
necessary for them to create the
safe and secure space for us to
freely express our
creative spirit. Similarly, we must do the same
for the other. It is a dance we do with each other.
Lack of
free unfold may lead to pain
(Top)
If one or the other is not free
and open to the dance, what is inside each is never expressed and
will become bound and entangle in ways to protect itself to remain
safe and secure. In doing so, there will be some level of tension
within one’s being and the other that may ultimately be experienced
as
pain of one form or another. The pain will result tension between
the pull to express that which arises naturally in the presence of
the other while simultaneously being opposed by a need to suppress
what is trying to come out because one does not feel safe for one
reason or another. This tension will give rise to pain or an
experience which results in some type of pain.
Without a
safe and secure space to unfold true to our nature we will
mold ourselves to our environment and shut down those aspects of our
creative spirit that are not readily expressible or acceptable to
our environment. As such, we lose the creative abilities that are
represented by those aspects. There needs to be someone who provides
a safe and secure space such that we mold ourselves in our own
identity and not what is imposed on us.
As an energy, our
creative spirit can, and does, remold or transform
itself based on how we choose to direct the flow of energy by how
we choose to focus its attention and awareness. We will mold
ourselves to whatever the environment requires for our survival.
However for any given environment, there is only one way that the
true uniqueness of our creative spirit will be seen. There needs to
be someone who is willing to create that space and do what is
necessary for our creative spirit to unfold true to its unique
nature. There needs to be someone who will mold themselves to the
intention of another until the creative spirit can come out and
freely express itself and learn to stand on its own two feet to
manifest that dream.
As was said, few achieve this level for
creation/Creation is not done alone and this is one of the most fundamental key understandings
one must have. Unless there is someone who supports our intention
and helps it through the difficult times and with whom we can share
our difficulties, we compromise our intention and never live to the fullness that is possible. In addition to being called forth by
another, this
creative spirit will need someone to hold the space
for this creative spirit to unfold once it comes out until it is
strong enough to stand on its own. Being called out and coming forth
is only part of the process. It is the easier part of the process
and can readily be done. Creating a space to make it safe for the
spirit that does come out to remain free and grow into its own
strength is quite different, takes much more time and may even
require a different approach.
The Fifteen Creative Steps/Guidelines
were developed to help both the creator and the one supporting their
creation.
Setting the stage for the second reason
(Top)
To understand the second reason as
to why there is the need for another to call forth the
creative spirit one must understand the
vulnerability of the creative spirit.
As said above, the inherent nature of the creative spirit is to
freely unfold and express itself within the conditions in which it
finds itself. It will mold who and what it thinks and believes about
itself and its world based on the experiences it has. Life itself
will call forth the creative spirit to creatively respond to the
conditions in which it faces. Facing the world is not an issue for
the creative spirit. It is able to move freely and unattached into
and out of to the experiences it has. To do so all one needs to do
is keep the focus of their attention and awareness on what one feels
and move in the direction that allows for the feeling of expansion
into the fullness of being and fullness of life.
Our problems develop when
mind becomes
attached to what is
experiences. It doesn’t matter whether one becomes attached because
we like or dislike what is being experienced. Any attachment binds
the
creative spirit. In fact, it is how the creative spirit becomes
attached that
gives rise to Creation as we experience it. However,
it is when our creative spirit becomes somehow thwarted in its
creative endeavors
that it creates the more significant problems
created by mind. It doesn’t matter how the creative spirit becomes
thwarted. It doesn’t matter who or what thwarts its creative
efforts. When the creative spirit’s efforts become thwarted, the
mind will develop a protective response pattern to protect, if not
defend, the creative spirit. Those response patterns, as foolish or
as wise they may be, control the future expressions of the creative
spirit. It will curtain its free expression based on the response
patterns that are developed. Over time, there can be a significant
loss or eroding of our
creative power and creative ability.
The
second reason for the need to call forth the creative spirit
(Top)
In understanding the
vulnerability
of the
creative spirit one can see how the experiences in life have a
way of causing the
creative spirit within our being to withdraw
from life. For
creative endeavors
that are supported by society or
someone within one’s world, our creative spirit usually has no
problem expressing itself and the events in our life are sufficient
to call it forth. However, whenever it begins to unfold in a way
that is judged somehow as unacceptable, the creative spirit will
withdraw to protect itself. This is when another is most important.
How significant a withdrawal depends on how threatened one perceives
themselves to be. It is here many of the fears of the past will
inject themselves adding to the perceived threat.
For the
creative spirit to feel free to come out, there needs to be
someone who is willing to both
give it permission to come out and
provide it the required space to deal with what we have to address
and express in order to unbind and unentangle our creative spirit
because of our past experiences. For most, it is the
pain we
suffered throughout life, especially the pain we experienced early
in life when our creativity was thwarted. In addition, to dealing
with the pain of this life, for this creative spirit to remain out,
it will need someone to hold the space for this creative spirit to
unfold once it comes out until it is strong enough to stand on its
own. Someone must allow the freed creative spirit to express itself
in whatever way it needs to express itself until it sufficiently
understands itself so that it can face the world in a way that
protects itself yet allows for its creativity to freely unfold.
In essence, we must get rid of the childish response patterns we
developed early in life to deal with our
pain. Or, maybe better
said, those response patterns we developed with the
mind of a child. We must replace them with more adult response
patterns that do not compromise our creativity and our
creative power and creative ability.
