Relearning innocence and spontaneity
Play can be a very powerful
creative tool. Our greatest
creative power and creative ability is accessed in play. Play
can allows one to
step out of mind
to access information that is otherwise not readily obtainable.
Creative play is related, but somewhat different, than what we
normally consider play. Creative play is play which moves us toward
the spontaneous and innocent childlike exploration and discovery of
ourselves and our world before
mind steps in with its judgments and beliefs. The goal of
creative play is to get out of the controlling mind and into the
spontaneity of the moment. It is to experience true freedom to
explore what is truly possible without constrains and without
conditions.
We live in an infinite universe with unlimited possibilities . But
to explore those possibilities we need to be in the spontaneity of
the moment to see what is possible. All that holds us from
experiencing this infinite universe is our
mind and by how and what we think and believe. To access this
infinite universe and to explore alternative possibilities we must
be able to step outside our mind into the unknown in a way that is
perceived safe and secure. Play within a
safe and secure space
is the fastest, quickest and safest way to explore the possibilities
of any situation.

The best description and
representation of the
most
creative state of being is the spontaneous and innocent
childlike
play of a very young child. The play of this child in the
exploration and discovery of itself and its world at each and every
level of its being before
mind steps in with it judgments and expectations. In this state
the child’s motives are pure for it has no motive other than to
explore and discover its world however it can wherever it lives. In
addition to this play, the most creative state leads to a calmness
within one’s being and an
inner satisfaction
which can be characterized as bliss or joy, that never runs dry no
matter what is happening in the external world. It is being free to
flow with the flow of our
creative life energy wherever it leads. This most creative state
includes to playfully discover and explore what we think and believe
about ourselves, the situation we face, and the environment which
gives rise to the situation we face at whatever level of being we
need to be free to explore - whether it be physical, spiritual,
emotional or mental - without the judgment and imposition of mind
and what we think and believe.
We are born with this
state of being. Or, maybe better said, we are born from this
state of being and carry it with us into the world. We all have been
there and we all know what it feels like to experience this type and
kind of play. In actuality it is
the essence of our being. We remember the feeling of this state
of being when we come close to reentering this state. The ability to
enter and be in this state of spontaneous and innocent childlike
play is inherent within our being. Yet, for one reason or another we
shutdown, or turn off, this ability to play when the free flow and
free expression of our creativity/creative play was thwarted.
To enter the
most
powerful creative state we need to hold the same clear conscious
and subconscious intention. That intention is to
step out of mind
and to be spontaneous and innocent to playfully explore and discover
oneself and one’s world where we are free to fully engage every
level of our being including our sexuality and allow the flow of
energy to lead our efforts.
The main issue here is that the
most
creative state of being has both a conscious and subconscious
component. Unless we address both of them we cannot return to that
most creative state of being It is here that play becomes the path to
recreating this state of being and
creative play is the door way.

Within this understanding, from
the
creativity perspective,
the goal of play relative to our creative endeavors is to (1) move
to a
state of being where we establish a freedom of moment to explore
the conscious and subconscious aspects of our being and the
situation at hand and/or (2) create the space to move into
creative play. It is to a state of play were we
allow ourselves to become lost in play to allow it to evolve
into creative play.
The goal of creative play
(Top)
From a
creativity perspective,
creative play is about having the freedom of movement to explore
in whatever way as appropriate and necessary the issues/situation at
hand to discover the way or ways we can proceed to create what we
seek. It is about following the
intuitive guidance we get and being free to explore the limits
and barriers imposed by
mind in the way it characterizes our intuitive guidance. In this
regard, the goal of creative play is: (1) to get out of the
controlling mind; (2) to be totally in the spontaneity of the moment
to go where the flow of energy that is manifesting the experience we
are having is leading as presented to us by our intuitive guidance;
(3) to freely explore and discover where the energy is leading us;
(4) be free to explore the source of the flow of energy we are
experiencing and/or (5)
allow ourselves to become lost in creative play to allow it to
evolve into the
most
creative state of being.

Relearning to play in a way that
allows the play to evolve into creative play is not too difficult.
The topic, “Accessing
Our Creative Play,” provides some guidance and ways to enter the
state of being of play.
The
creative state of play is a very powerful
state of being. The goal of
creative play is to get out of the controlling
mind and be totally in the spontaneity of the moment. As such,
for many it is frightening. Yet, it is the state of being which we
carry into the world when we are born. In fact, it is our natural
state of being for our play arises from the same source of
play as the Source of Creation.
Entering
creative play can be done three ways. One way is to allow a
state of play to evolve into creative play. To enter creative play,
most will first have to be able
to
become lost in play. To become lost in play we must first
understand play as it relates to creativity and exactly what is
creative play.
A second way is to set the intention to enter the
creative state of play.
The third is to access our creative passion and be so overwhelmed
and consumed with
our creative passion that it opens the door to be in this
playful like state.
The following list of topics are provided if you desire to use
either play or
creative play as creative tools. The sequence suggested in “the
next step” can be used to begin to develop an understanding of how to
use play in your creative endeavors and/or enter a
state of creative play as creative tools.
