Our Creative
Spirit home page: What is best described as our
creative spirit is the source of our creative power and creative
ability. It is what supplies the creative life energy and passion
that catalyzes all our creative actions and our life to create what
we desire. It influences all that we do. Its free and unfettered
unfoldment is what allows for an inner satisfaction with life that
never runs dry no matter what is happening in our life. Although it
is an extremely powerful influence in our life, surprising few
consciously tap into what it has to offer us in life. Most of us are
unaware of its existence. (More on... what is the creative spirit)
What
exactly is the creative spirit
(Top)
It is said above, “What is best
described as our creative spirit is the source of our creative power
and creative ability.” In actuality, this is not quite true for the
source of our creative power and creative ability can also be seen
and/or experienced as a flow of energy.
What lies within each of us, at the essence of our being, lies the
source of our creative power and creative ability. It is synonymous
with the flow of life and a flow of energy that flows from the
Source of Creation that flows within your being and needs to be
protected. It can be experienced and/or described as flow of energy,
a unique individualized spirit, or a combination of both. What this
means is that whether we perceive this ability within our being to
make things happen as a creative spirit, as a flow of energy, or
only as consciousness, it is about out ability to create. The
relationship of consciousness and energy within the creative
perspective is discussed under the topic of “Energy
- an invariant within the creativity perspective.”
This creative spirit, which is within each of us, is not quite the
same as the
concept of spirit as used in spiritual and religious traditions.
It is not the traditional concept of spirit that resides in most
theologies where one could say that a human being is a spiritual
being having a physical experience. Although similar to the
traditional concept of spirit, it is much different. It is
profoundly different. I had to have my understanding of myself and
the way I thought the world worked completely shattered to even
begin to understand it. It is not separate from the physical, nor
does it seek to transcend the physical. Rather, it is intimately
tied to the physical conditions we create and manifest every day in
our life. Since the creative spirit is much different than the
traditional concept of spirit and how we think about a spirit, one
must find a way to safely step out of what one thinks and believes
about themselves and their world and the unseen world. If one is
ever going to truly see and experience what this creative spirit
that lies within their own being really is and what it desires to
accomplish one has to find a way to step out of mind. The creative
perspective can help one to do this.
As discussed in the topic “Energy
- an invariant within the creativity perspective,” consciousness
and energy can be described as different forms of the same material
of Creation. For all practical purposes they can be seen as one and
the same. They are only viewed and/or experienced differently. How
you choose to view this source and experience it will determine two
things. One is your view will determine what you can create with it.
The other is your view determines whether or not you feel a
separation and/or alienation from life or experience a wholeness and
oneness with life and between what you think and believe and what
you experience.
The
effects of the creative spirit are real
(Top)
Whether you take what is said here
about the creative spirit as being a sprit or as a flow of energy
within our being literally or figuratively only as a metaphor, it
does not matter. The effects are real and it has a tremendous impact
on our life. You can explain it however you wish. However, some
explanations or descriptions offer a more powerful vehicle for a
accessing your inherent creative power and ability.
Our
creative power and ability as a spirit
(Top)
The source of our creative power
and ability can be called a spirit for it has characteristics of a
spirit. As a spirit, it has a personality unto itself. I call it a
spirit for I had other experiences in life years earlier that
allowed me to recognize what seemed to be entities that existed
apart from, separate from, or different than, one’s normal self.
When I first encountered it within an individual, it was like an
entirely different person. Yet it was not a separate entity. It was
only a part of this individual that was so unexpressed that it
appeared foreign and separate from them and had the potential to
completely and radically transform their life. If this creative
spirit within our being is not properly protected you will create
conditions that do not serve you. What you create can run the
spectrum from mild dissatisfaction with life to outright accident
and/or illness and in some extreme cases, death itself.
Experienced as a spirit, this playful creative spirit is found
within each of us. It is accessible through feeling and your
intuitive guidance. This playful creative spirit is what gives us
the capacity and ability to create a life worth living. If allowed,
it leads us to nurture and sustain the life it creates in a way that
provides for an unfettered unfolding of that spirit. The essence of
how to nurture this creative spirit is to hold one’s creativity
sacred and to seek those life experience which one’s creative spirit
leads one to experience which allows one to feel a feeling of
expansion within their being. That is you know and can feel yourself
expanding beyond who and what you think you are and into life in a
bigger and deeper and in a more profound way.
Our creative power and ability
as a flow of energy
(Top)
Alternatively, your creative power
and creative ability can be seen and experiences as a flow of energy
that what gives rise to life and that which we experience it as
life. Aligning with, and feeling the flow of energy, is what gives
rise to passion and the passion for life and for living. It is what
enthuses our entire being with life. The passion we feel is only the
experience of this flow of energy. In this view, you could say that
we each are a flow of energy that has become aware of itself. We are
a flow of energy unfolding within the environment in which we find
ourselves. In a different environment, we would be different and we
would perceive ourselves differently except our essence would never
change.
As an energy, this flow of energy is easily manipulated, controlled
and managed. We do it all the time. As an ability, this creative
spirit or flow of energy is always available to you. Whether you
consciously can access a sufficient amount to create what you desire
is the question. This creative spirit, as an energy never dies. It
only transforms. However, it can be rendered dormant or inoperable.
It can even be perceived as disfunctional. If you do not properly
protect this flow of energy you will scatter your creative energy
and be unable to focus on what you desire to create or you will
simply divert your energy into actions that do not serve you. What
you create can run the spectrum from mild dissatisfaction with life
to outright accident and/or illness and in some extreme cases, death
itself. It can become so bound, entangled or diverted because of
what it has experienced that it becomes dormant and essentially
lifeless creating the impression that it doesn’t exist and we seem
to be powerless to create what we desire.
This flow of energy represented by the this creative spirit is both
the source of our life and the source of our creative ability. As a
flow of energy, life is something that is felt and with which one
must align through feeling. You cannot think you are in the flow,
you need to feel it. When you align with this flow you experience an
inner freedom. Some experience this inner freedom as bliss or joy.
Some experience it as an expansion within their being. What lies
within this creative spirit is something that mind cannot see for
mind is a product of its unfoldment and the experiences it creates.
In some cases, mind is frightened by its unfoldment for mind does
not control it.
Equivalency of energy and consciousness
(Top)
So, from a creativity perspective,
consciousness and energy are one and the same thing, just perceived
differently. Whether described as a flow of energy or as a creative
spirit, these two descriptions are equivalent ways to look at our
creativity. It is this understanding that makes the Releasing Your
Unlimited Creativity approach different than many other approaches
to creativity to create what we desire. This understanding of the
relationship between consciousness and energy and is where the power
of the Releasing Your Unlimited Creativity understanding and
methodology lies.
In essence, equating energy and consciousness means the entire
creative process from start to finish can be seen as an energy
balance. It requires the transformation, whole or in part, of an
existing internal form and a corresponding outer form and/or
expression of energy into what we desire. The inner form is
perceived by consciousness as feelings and thoughts based on how and
what we think and believe and why we believe what we do. The
external form is perceived as the expression of the life we live in
our body and the world we inhabit. To understand the connection and
relationship between the inner and outer gives one an incredible
creative ability. Accessing this ability starts with understanding
and surfacing our beliefs structure.
Our belief structure - adjusting the flow of energy
(Top)
To better understand the
relationship between our
belief structure and how we direct this flow of creative life
energy or the creative spirit, we can us a river analogy. The river
banks is what controls the flow of the river and defines the river.
They are represented by our belief structure - who and what we think
and believe and why we think and believe the way we do. The flow of
the water is what we feel. It is the flow of our creative life
energy or the creative spirit within our being. The flow of the
river is what contains the power of the river for within in the flow
is the ability of the river to make something happen. It will flow
as directed by the banks of the river - that is by the choices we
make in how will we live and express our life.
We can change and redirect the flow by the choices we make which is
analogous to adjusting the banks of the river. Of course, the
choices we make are determined by our belief structure. In this
regard, mind can be seen as a switching station for the flow of your
creative life energy. We turn the flow of our creative life energy
on or off and/or direct it in or out of a creative effort simply by
our belief structure and the choices we make. In the outer
expression, the expression of our creative spirit is the life we
live with the constraints on our being and the environment in which
it finds itself. It is in understanding the relationship between the
inner and the outer that will allow us to create what we desire.
There are various implications of this understanding that can be
used to allow one to create what they desire. Some of the more
important implications to the creation process used within the
Releasing Your Unlimited Creativity approach based on this
relationship between consciousness, energy and one’s creative
abilities are noted on this and
related web sites. The only real constraint you will find on
creating what you desire are the conditions in which you start.
Often you will find you will have to
transform these starting conditions in addition to or even
before you can create what you desire.
