There is a story that if often
told as to the
nature of Creation and how we each are an
independent consciousness in Creation. The story is as follows.
Once upon a time, there was a group of princes. They enjoyed being
with each other and sharing life with each other. To do so, they
decided to open a club. The club was a place where they could come
together, socialize and be with their fellow princes. The reason for
the need for this club was quite simple. Each being a prince, they
had no other peers in their respective kingdoms with whom to
socialize as an equal. Other than any brothers they may have, there
was no one in their kingdom who was their peer. As most know,
brothers normally do not considers their brother(s) a peer. Brothers
are always older or younger. As such, brother princes always have a
“pecking” order.
These princes wanted to be completely free with each other in every
way . They wanted no one other than a peer within the confines of
the club. But that posed a significant problem. Who would cook for
there were no cooks? Who would clean for there were no servants? Who
would handle the finances of the club because there was no finance
minister? The list when on and on. Being resourceful, to solve these
problems, the princes decided each to play a role based on what they
liked to do or thought would be interesting. One decided to cook for
he like cooking. One was an neatness freak so he chose to keep the
club clean. Others liked to paint and fix things up. Others like
accounting. The number of volunteers went on and on. In the end,
each necessary task was covered and the club ran extremely well.
Each prince enjoyed playing a role he had elected to play.
As long as each prince remembers they are a prince and don’t believe
they are the role they are playing, everything will run fine.
